The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Race Equality in Education

We are the secretariat of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Race Equality in Education at the Houses of Parliament.

The group's aim is to support children and students from ethnic minority backgrounds, to enhance educational environments, and to increase racial diversity in teaching across the UK.

There are over 60 MPs and peers in our group, which makes us one of the largest Parliamentary groups across the Houses of Parliament.

The Group is led by the following MPs and Peers:

Crossbench Member of the UK House of Lords, Principal of Homerton College Cambridge University, Founder of Operation Black Vote, and previously the Advisory Chair of the UK Government’s Race Disparity Unit

Conservative MP, formerly sat on the Child, Schools and Families Committee, and was previously the Shadow Minister for Science and Innovation

Labour Peer, currently sits on the Human Rights Joint Committee, Chair of the Labour Party’s Race Equality Taskforce, and also formerly sat on the Children and Families Act Committee
